This website is dedicated to Storiesonline, Finestories, and Sci-Fi Stories authors, proofreaders, editors, and others who have temporarily or permanently ended their involvement in the development and posting of stories to these websites. Some of these people are still active in their respective communities, but they are no longer involved in the development and posting of stories.

Clicking on a contributor's pen name in the List of Inactive Contributors will display a Contributor Page that provides what is known and what is understood to be true of the contributor. The information provided has been obtained from many sources: authors' Blogs and Profiles, lists of stories, the Forums, other websites, and what the contributors and others have provided to this website’s supporters. However, the information may be inaccurate due to several causes, such as, an author removing one or more of their posted stories from a website. When the credibility of the displayed information is believed to be accurate, but not confirmed, the information is presented as an unsubstantiated comment.

If you have a favorite contributor who has not been active on one of the three story websites for more than two years and you would like them to be added to this website, please Contact us by email - refer to the Contact Website Support section. If your inactive contributor meets the requirements established for addition to the website, their pen name will be added and a Contributor's Page will be developed.

Authors

An author is inactive if they have passed away.

An author will be considered inactive when they announce:

• Their retirement from writing.
• Intent to take an extended hiatus.
• No longer capable of writing due to a medical condition.

For an author to be considered inactive, all of the following must be true for the past two years:

• The author has not posted a new story, posted a new chapter to an existing story, and has not updated an existing story or chapter.
• The author has not made a post to their blog or to the forum.
• The author has not been in contact with other SOL members or the website’s staff.

Editors, Proofreaders and Other Contributors

Editors, proofreaders and other Contributors who support the development of stories are considered inactive, if one of the Statuses listed below is true.

Inactive Contributor Status

For each of the pen names on the Inactive Contributors web page, one of the following statuses will appear in the Status column.

• Hiatus – the contributor has taken a temporary break from writing and posting stories or contributing to the development of stories. The Contributor Page will provide any known information about the duration of, and reason for, the hiatus.
• In Memoriam – the contributor has passed away.
• Medical – the contributor has a medical problem that permanently or temporarily prevents them from being actively involved in the writing and posting of stories or contributing to the development of stories.
• Pending – a visitor to the website notified the Website Supporters that a contributor is inactive and the visitor requested that the contributor's pen name be added to the website as an Inactive Contributor. The Website Supporters agreed the contributor meets the criteria for being added to the website and the contributor's pen name has been added to the listing of Inactive Contributors. A Contributor Page will be developed for the contributor when time permits.
• Retired – the contributor has permanently ended their involvement in the writing and posting of stories or contributing to the development of stories.
• Unknown – the contributor has not been active in the writing and posting of stories or contributing to the development of stories for more than two years and the reason for their inactivity is not known.
• Withdrew – the contributor's association with the SOL website has ended with their author name and stories being removed from the website.
